EDUCATION
The Alexandria Museum of Art is dedicated to its educational programming for people of all ages. We offer art classes for children and adults, programs for artists, summer camps, specialized tours and education outreach to area schools through our ArtExpress program. The Museum is a handicapped accessible facility to meet the needs of our community. We recognize the vital part art can make on our area school's ability to succeed in all aspects of education and we are driven to contribute to these needs.
Journeys and Visions
Children are especially welcome to visit and enjoy the wonders in the world of art. All school age students, home school groups, other organizations and individuals can make the Journey to AMoA to view authentic and genuine objects of worth. The education staff of AMoA will provide a Vision that will encourage visual awareness and actively involve students in expressing their thoughts and feelings about art. Art museums are among the few institutions able to teach children how to see and understand works from original art. The Alexandria Museum of Art is a place for "fun in learning".
