Adult Art Classes

Drop-In Art Classes - for the busy, budding artist! 

Drop-in means there is no pre-registration for this new on-going adult art education series. Classes are designed for any and all skill levels seeking a relaxed creative environment. This on-going series for adults offers instruction, experience with other dry mediums, constructive critique, and inspiration from exhibitions and the permanent collection.

  • Classes meet on the first Tuesday of every month, 5:45-7:00 in the AMoA classroom.
  • FREE for AMoA Members ~ $10 per class for non-members 
  • CLASSES ARE LIMITED TO 20! First come, first served!

Coming in September 2018! Drop-In Art Classes willl begin a rotation of mediums to provide a well-rounded art experience, designed for the beginner, intermediate and advanced students.

Specialty Workshops for Adults

Adult art classes are held quarterly and generally correlate with the exhibitions currently on display and are often taught by visiting artists. The subject matter and medium of the classes vary are are designed for beginner and intermediate students.  Join our mailing list to state up to date!  

            PART I - Saturday, September 8   1:00 - 4:00pm     

            PART II - Saturday, October 6     

            $30 for Members - $40 for Non-members                                                                                         

Join us at AMoA to create your own illuminated costume. Choose from three construction styles ranging from easy to difficult. Participants may bring interesting clothing to transform with paint and lights (easy), create a plastic couture article of clothing (moderate) or Bauhaus inspired costume (more difficult). Two sessions are offered for this workshop to help you complete your wearable masterpiece. Then, join us to illuminate the night with us at the fall procession on October 19.  Most materials are provided.

Hari and Deepti are a husband and wife art duo who experiment with paper and lights to create schultures with shadows. Their unique stule of using light to create and tell stories has been featured by leading design magazine and have been published by Ginko Press and Dance of Paper. Join this art duo to create your own shadow sculpture. All materials are provided.

 

All adult classes are for individuals 21 years of age and older. All classes are priced individually.

AMoA Members and LSUA students receive discounted rates.

Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all classes, except Drop-In classes.
