ABOUTTHE MUSEUM
Visitors receive a warmwelcome when they enter the grand foyer of the Alexandria Museum of Art,constructed and opened to the public in March of 1998. The Museum was foundedin 1977 and occupies the Historic Rapides Bank Building, circa 1898, listed onthe National Historic Register.
The expanded AMoA is thecenterpiece of Alexandria's riverfront, situated on the entire 900 block ofMain Street. The museum comprises of exhibition spaces, curatorial andcollection storage, administrative and education space and other publicgathering areas.
Throughits Exhibition Program of an ever-changing array of collections on loan from aroundthe world, its extensive Permanent Collection, National Competitions, andSpecial Events entice visitors from across the Nation.

THE ALEXANDRIA MUSEUMOF ART
The Alexandria Museum of Art is a museum forthe collection and preservation of visual art.Its first responsibility is to its collection and its programs and therental may in no way interfere with public hours and/or public visitation. With the limits imposed by their functionsand contents, the Museum will grant usage of the facility to individuals ororganizations who meet the following criterion:
1. Nonprofit organizations whose purpose issimilar to the purpose of the Museum. (Non-Profits receive a 20% discount)
2.GovernmentalAgencies of the United States, State of Louisiana, Parish, or municipality ofAlexandria or other Central Louisiana Communities.
3.Othergroups or individuals whose proposed uses are, in the Board of Manager’sopinion, not in conflict with the purpose of the Museum.

Included in above price: A staff member and security guard on duty, tablesand chairs at no additional cost, set up and take down of tables, chairs, andother equipment, two complimentary hours before event to set up and one hourafter event to clean up. Photographscan be taken at AMoA prior to event at no charge with an appointment.
Additional Fees: $10 fee for use of each Black Linen. After hours events are limited to three hourswith a $200 charge for each additional hour.All events are required to end by 11PM to allow for one hour clean upand Museum locked by 12AM. If special arrangementsare made to go beyond 12AM each additional hour will be $300. Photographs can be taken at AMoA throughappointments only. If not associatedwith a scheduled event the cost is $150 per hour or $100 for ½ hour.
