The house, as the “hearth” as the “center” of experience is an image that I have been painting repeatedly. As a contemporary on-site landscape painter, I work outside, and the paintings included here are of lawns, yards and sections of houses and barns in a landscape. I am interested in observing rural suburbia and common objects in the home, as a way to connect with a primal instinct of our human need for safety, protection and shelter.
